We were up at 5:00am to make it to our ferry for 8:40am at Departure Bay in Nanaimo. All good – no issues. Smooth sailing, and we’re off!

First stop is Breakfast. As I run in to get our eats, Harley keeps a close eye on what I’m doing.

Our plan is to never drive too far in a day. That, of course, depends on the conditions of the roads and any obstacles on the road. This day was great and we settled into a boondocking site just outside Pemberton, BC. Right along the Green River. We had a nice shady spot where we enjoyed the rest of the day.
While we were relaxing, a woodland creature came to say hello. – a little bear. Not this year’s little, but likely last year’s. He thought Eric was inviting him over to have a visit, but quickly realized maybe we weren’t his kind.
Eric scared him off, and you’d think that was the last we saw of him… nope. A while later, Ryder saw him coming back from a different direction and when Eric was looking away, Ryder decided to chase the bear up a tree next to our site. He came down the tree and took off into the woods again, only looking back to show us how hurt his feelings were. The photos of the bear are screenshots from video I took.
After the excitement, a great sleep was had by all!
