We woke to a fresh morning. Just a bit of rain fell through the night to calm the dust.
We got ourselves together and headed into Prince George to run a few errands. As we get further north, we want to ensure we have all the needs (and maybe some wants), so I did a few groceries, and Eric popped into Canadian Tire for a few supplies.
We didn’t drive very far today. We’ve loosely planned 3 days of driving (3-4 hours a day), then a day off. Today was earmarked as a day off, and we did make our day shorter and decided to stay in Beaumont Provincial Park. For $22 per night, it’s a lovely park/lake. We can also restock our water supply for the cabin,

We wanted to ‘test’ some of our systems, one being laundry. I am used to hand washing laundry when we go away for extended periods (and have in Mexico for years), but I saw something on the interweb about a month before we left.

This is a Scrubba. It’s like a dry bag, but it has a window, a valve for letting air out, and the inside has little nubbins so that it serves as a modern-day washboard. It’s great. Then it just rolls up and takes up no room at all.
We’ve also mastered showering outside undetected by others who might be around. That’s all you need to know, and there are no photos!
Ahhh. Wildlife report: We saw a little Bambi, and a couple of pretty nifty-looking woodpeckers in our campsite!

Now our chores are done, and we’ve tested a couple of systems out successfully, we head out tomorrow to Smithers!
Tonight is just for relaxing and enjoying our scenery.

The dogs love to sit in the cabin, door open, admiring nature… and sniffing for bears!

You have to admit, it’s pretty cozy. For those who are wondering, it’s a king-size bed. (but short for folks like us)
